Statement from Superintendent Regarding Tragedy in Texas

Dear families,

This afternoon, we became aware of the horrific incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. On behalf of the board of education and our district, our hearts go out to all educators, staff, students and families during this tragedy.

Mental health is extremely important and we know this has been a difficult year. We continue to encourage all families and staff to say something if you see something unusual.

We also want to take a moment to remind you of the resources we have at our schools. Students and staff have access to counselors, the ERIC center and other social-emotional support resources that we share in our weekly messages. I encourage you to please take the time to read our emails and share these resources with friends and family.

Today’s news is truly heartbreaking and I want you to know that we care about you. If you or your students need someone to talk to, please reach out for help. We are here for you.

If you have any questions, you can always reach us at [email protected].
